Business Development Committee

The purpose of the Business Development Committee is to increase membership through recruiting and retention this is to be accomplished by fulfilling the following:

  • Show value of membership by increasing our image to members and the community.
  • Visit businesses in the community to find out more about them and give information about Chamber programs and benefits.
  • Create new synergy with other committees as they relate to membership.
  • Increase participation at events by promoting the value of the program.

Ambassador Club

Webster's Dictionary defines Ambassador as: "An Authorized Messenger or Representative"

The Ambassador Club acts as the public relations arm of the Chamber. Of all the volunteers in the Chamber, the Ambassadors are among the most active. They participate in numerous special events throughout the year, providing the Chamber with hundreds of hours of volunteer time in addition to the monthly Chamber-sponsored functions. Ambassadors represent goodwill on behalf of the Chamber. Active participation by Ambassadors helps to improve communication within the business community, which in turn strengthens the image of the Chamber.

CEO Roundtable

This exciting new program is designed exclusively for CEO’s and other top-level executives, is an unique opportunity to interact on a monthly basis with your peer group in a confidential forum. This allows you to voice critical business issues, explore ideas, discuss issues and seek the help, support, and wisdom of your peer group. Qualification criteria include membership in the Irwindale Chamber, principal decision maker with full P&L responsibility, and commitment to active participation and attendance.

Since makeup of the group is critical to it’s success, the selection for participation is based on several criteria, including type of industry, size of organization, and personalities of applicants. Environmental Committee

Our Mission Statement is:
To prepare, inform and advocate, on behalf of the business and residential community, environmental concerns and emergency preparation and response planning.

At the Irwindale Chamber, “Environment” is not merely defined in the traditional sense, which might solely address human interaction with natural elements, such as water, open space, and the preservation of species for instance. Conventional wisdom argues that economic interests and environmental interests run contrary to each other. At the extreme end of either perspective this may be the case. However, when you consider where these two admirable positions converge, a fresh point of view emerges. Environment is a merging of multiple factors that consider how we live and if we live, in changing circumstances --- at both the individual and community level.

Formed in May of 2000, the committee was organized to provide a forum to exchange ideas and incubate relationships that could assist local businesses in preventing or managing environmental and safety challenges. The Irwindale Chamber of Commerce Environmental Committee is a robust group of talented members from the public and private sectors, utilities and non-profit organizations committed to fostering a healthy, safe and prepared community.

Legislative Business Affairs Committee

The Irwindale Chamber Legislative Business Affairs Committee utilizes the Irwindale Chamber’s Legislative Priorities platform to determine which legislative, regulatory and governmental issues the Chamber should support or oppose. They inform legislators of the Chamber's positions. This committee also works to keep the members of the Chamber informed and educated on issues facing the business community by having forums for our businesses to meet and hear from our legislators.

The Irwindale Chamber of Commerce has been instrumental in the formation and development of the San Gabriel Valley Legislative Association of Chambers. Fourteen Chambers of Commerce have approved a regional Legislative Platform. This allows the Coalition to send letters to our legislators on behalf of the Chambers and our respective members.
